We exist, as a gospel-centered community, living in a multi-cultural city, making known the gospel of Jesus Christ, to all people for the glory of God.
Our Core Values
We believe the following core values lead to faithfulness to our mission statement as we seek to be faithful to the Lord:
Gospel
The Gospel is the motivating factor in all that we do at PRC. Through its power in the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, lives, families, communities and cultures are transformed. With its truth embraced, we will strive to allow the gospel to direct every facet of our lives by living its truth individually as well as corporately. The follow three areas are vital expressions of the gospel at PRC.
The Whole Counsel of God
There is no greater need for the Christian than to consistently feed on God’s Word. Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matt. 4:4) Consequently, the survival and faithfulness of any local church depends on its commitment to the Bible. This commitment brings forth a God-centered focus that moves the Christian to maturity and the non-believer to true repentance and salvation. As a result, we believe the whole counsel of God makes its way through the life of our church at every level - from the exposition of the Scriptures during Sunday morning worship services to the Bible stories presented at a children’s Sunday school class.
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. - 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Reformed Soteriology
A commitment to the who counsel of God leads to a proper understanding of salvation. While man is dead in his sins, an enemy of God and destined to eternal separation, God sent his Son Jesus to die on a cross, conquering death and hell, to bring salvation to all who would believe. Those who would believe are called, pre-destined, elected according to his infinite mercies and grace. Therefore, we believe salvation is not void of human responsibility but more so appropriated to a sovereign God who does according to the counsel of his will as he ushers a glorious salvation.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9
Spirit-filled Lives
Christians have been forever changed because of the permanent indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. But, although eternity is secured for them, there is still the necessity of living Spirit-filled lives if true holiness and effective ministry is to be experienced. How do you know if a Christian is Spirt-filled? It is not by a mystical outward sign but more an inward joy and peace that overflows with fruitfulness for the common good and mission of the church (Gal. 5:22-23)
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. - Romans 15:13
Community
We believe that as a gospel-centered community, we are called to experience life together through formal and informal gatherings such as corporate worship, small groups and everyday living. We strive to honor God by making Christ evident in our lives as we look outside ourselves in love and service. Furthermore, as a reflection of our city, we desire diversity in ethnicity, language and culture. At PRC, we believe God’s Word to be the center of all our relationships.
Biblical Fellowship
God created Man for relationship; a relationship with God and relationships with each other. Similarly, when Jesus was pressed about the greatest commandment, he gave two: Love God, love your neighbor.
The fellowship the believer experiences is not superficial, it is real. It enjoys the light conversation of a casual friend but is also able to speak to the deepest of subjects. At times, it’s direct and confrontational but it’s always loving. The believer is concerned with his neighbor’s heart and unlike the folly of Cain, is called to actually be his brother’s keeper.
For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers. - Hebrews 2:11
Community Groups
At Providence Road the emphasis is that we do “life together.” Ten Community Groups throughout the Miami area meet weekly. The groups consist of a wide variety of people with varied backgrounds all meeting under one common denominator: Jesus. The purpose is fellowship, Bible study and community service.

Complementarian Relationships
Solid biblical fellowship and community is followed by a right understanding of the differences between genders. We have come to understand that our roles as men and women have been clearly defined in God’s Word and following his plan maximizes our gospel effectiveness and joy. In short, men and women are created equal, loved and pursued by God and have been given distinct roles to complement one another for the purposes of rightly reflecting the relationship between Christ and his Church, God’s creative order and sanctifying plan in both the home and the church.
Mission
Faithfulness to the Gospel demands that all believers engage in missions. Therefore, at PRC we will make missional living a lifestyle both as individuals and as the church. We will strive to contextualize the truth of the gospel across every language and culture whether it is within our city or across the globe. Our mission strategy will not be limited to just sharing the gospel but will extend to becoming a church that plants other like-minded churches.
Missional Living
The life of the Christian is one of purpose and intention. As the Christian has so he gives. What the Christian has is life, forgiveness of sin and life with God through Jesus his Son.
The charter to life with God is the responsibility of proclamation and reclamation. The Christian does this both actively and passively. Actively, the Christian shares the good news of Jesus in all aspects of life to friends, enemies, bosses and subordinates. Passively, the Christian proclaims Jesus through good will and charity. The Christian’s display of good character makes Christ beautiful.
How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news! - Romans 10:15b
Missional Churches
The church, a gathered group of people who trust Jesus, is God’s vehicle for life transformation. Within the bounds of the church, the lost find Jesus while believers mature in the faith. As the church grows in maturity, so it expands through gospel proclamation. Thus, the church is missional when it cultivates love for God, encourages missional living and exemplifies a missional culture through sending and going.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold I am with you always, to the end of the age. - Matthew 28:19-20
